House, probably 2 cottages originally. C18 or earlier. Roughcast on cob on rubble
footings with sections of rubble and brick; volcanic stone and cob stacks topped
with brick; thatched roof, gabled each end. 2-storeys, 4-room plan. Double lateral
stack projecting from right end of front (west side) and projecting gable-end stack
to left. Irregular 3-window front of C19 or C20 timber casements, 3- and 2-light,
3 and 6 panes per casement, all to left of 2-phase stack, partly cob, mostly stone,
patched with brick, two 5- and small central 2-light windows. Front door set
roughly central overall with open-sided thatched porch supported on reused
reproduction carved bed-posts. House possibly derived from earlier 3-room and
through passage plan but more likely from a row of at least 2 cottages. Interior
