Row of 4 millworkers' cottages converted into 2 dwellings. Circa early
C19. Rendered stone rubble. Asbestos slate roof with hipped ends. Right
hand end has slightly higher ridge. 3 large stone rubble and rendered
lateral stacks at rear.
Plan: Overall rectangular plan of single depth. Each cottage either of
1 or 2 rooms heated from fireplaces at the back. Originally a row of 4
cottages, converted into 2 houses and later extensions built at the
rear.
Exterior: 3 storeys. Approximately 6-window range. Not quite
symmetrical fenestration with C19 2-light casements with glazing bars and
small panes. Small square windows on second floor. All with slate cills.
C20 plank door to left and C20 panelled door to right. Doorways between
have been blocked.
Interior not inspected.
Note: Built for mill works at woollen mills (The Mills, Woodland Road,
Harbertonford (qv)).
