House. Circa mid C19. Local slate and metamorphic stone rubble. Asbestos
slate roof with gabled ends and bracketed eaves. Left hand (west) gable
end asbestos slate hung first floor and attic.
Plan: Double depth plan with entrance on left end to stair hall to rear
left. The 2 principal front,rooms are now one room and separated from the
smaller rear service rooms on the right by an axial passage. The main
rooms are heated from gable end stacks. Single storey wing set back on
right (east) end.
Exterior: storeys and attic. All the windows in gable ends.
Symmetrical 2-bay front with pointed arch window openings with
voussoirs. 2-light casements of 8 panes per light and top lights with
gothic pointed panes. Left hand gable end has doorway to left of centre
with pointed arch fanlight with intersecting glazing bars and c20 panelled
door. C20 glazed porch with tent-shaped slate roof.
Single storey wing to right (east) set back; 3 windows plus doorway.
Windows have pointed brick arches; 12-pane single-light casements with
intersecting glazing bars in top lights. Doorway to right with similar
fanlight above glazed door in pointed arch opening.
Interior: Open well staircase with open string moulded handrail ramped up
to column newels. Servants' stair at rear of opposite east end lead
directly up to attic. Most of the original internal joinery has been
replaced and the two principal rooms at the front have been converted into
one room.
