SP 84 NE EMBERTON HIGH STREET

5/30 Memorial Clock Tower

GV II

Clock Tower. Dated 1846. Dressed rubblestone. 3 stages. Ground
stage has pointed arched doorway in west side. Bands between storeys.
One lancet each side to 2nd stage. Belfry stage has. 3 lancets per side,
on east the centre one blocked and with clock face. Coped parapets
with pinnacles. Built in simple Early English Gothic style to the
memory of Margaret, wife of the Rector, Thomas Fry. War memorial tablets
now attached to the lower stages of the tower.
