House. Late C16, extended in C20. Timber framed, plastered, roofed with
handmade red clay tiles. 4 bays aligned NW-SE with axial chimney stack one bay
from SE end. C20 lean-to extension along whole SW elevation, with 2 C20 chimney
stacks, and smaller lean-to beyond. Lean-to porch at N corner with side
entrance. One storey with attics. NE elevation, 2 C20 casement windows and one
more in gabled dormer. Heavy studding, with some renewal in lighter studs. The
SE and middle rooms have axial beams and joists of horizontal section, all
chamfered with step stops. In the rear wall there is a framed window with
mortices for 3 diamond mullions. The brickwork of the main hearth has been
largely renewed; C20 grate in SE room. Roof structure apparently rebuilt, but
largely concealed by interior finishes.
