Dated 1851. Two storeys in ashlar. Blocking course and dentil cornice,
label with 'Savings Bank AD 1851.' Seven windows, rounded arches, console
keystone, pilastered jambs and between windows, swags below. Right-hand
window in shouldered architrave above carriage archway, this section being
slightly set back. Four windows on ground floor, segmental carved heads,
as the two doors. Panels beneath windows, cill brackets, plinth. Ground
floor rusticated. Listed as part of a group with properties in Frenchgate
and the Market Place.
York County Savings Bank. Nos to 10 (even) and Swale House form a group
and with Nos 59A, 60 and 61 Market Place
