Machine shop to Thwaite Mill. Early C19, with later addition. Red brick with slate roof, built on retaining wall of tooled sandstone blocks. Long rectangular single-storey building (in 2 builds) at right-angles to Thwaite Mill on opposite side of access road; gable end has doorway, stone gable coping (pitched canopy bridging the road between the buildings and linking them); south side, overlooking mill race, has 2 flat-arched fixed windows with small panes in the older part, 3 similar windows in the extension. Some similar openings on north side.
