1/17 Park House

GV II

House, early C19. Whitened brickwork in English Garden Wall Bond with
shallow pitched, 2-span slate roof. 2 storeys, 6 bays. 2 and
3-storey rear wings (north-west) complete an "F" shaped plan.
4-panelled door with fielded panels and bolection moulds in moulded
doorcase with rectangular overlight. There are projecting stone
pilasters with weathered plinths and moulded caps supporting a flat
hood with coved cornice. Windows mainly recessed sashes with glazing
bars, stone sills and wedge lintels but there are also tripartite
windows with relieving arches. There is a large canted bay, with
three sashes, north-east of the entrance. End bays are
open-pediment-gables with wide soffites carried by cantilevered
timbers and two other bays have shallow coped-gables. A central bay
feature is a dentil cornice surmounted by a wide soffite supported by
cantilevered timbers.
Interior: Some panelled window shutters and six-panelled doors.
