1/57 Kilton Mill House.
G.V. II
Mill house, mid/late C18, re-fronted early/mid C19, with right extension of
similar date and mid C19 outhouse adjoining left. Dressed sandstone,
hammer-dressed at front. Clay pantile roofs with stone ridge and gable
copings, and block kneelers. Brick outhouse and return of right extension.
Mid C20 concrete tiles on extension. Single storey with basement and attic,
3 bays, built into hillside at left end. Central 4-panel door and mullioned
fanlight in pointed opening, reached by external stair. Mullioned-and-
transomed windows with glazing bars in pointed openings. Mid C20 casement
window in original opening at right of basement of which left-hand side is
obscured by stair and bank. Single-storey lean-to right extension to
basement has 6-panel door. Mid C20 raking roof dormer and corniced end
stacks. Right-hand returns of house and extension have mid C20 casements
single-storey outhouse has tall stack at south-west angle. Farm
outbuildings to north are too much altered to be of special interest.
