Lodge: early C19 but extensive remodelling mid C19 for Brocklehurst
family. Rusticated brick with hammer-dressed buff sandstone
dressings, purple tile roof with bands of fish scaling and 1 yellow
brick chimney. 2-storey, symmetrical 3-bay front. Lower storey has a
stone arcade of depressed elliptical arches with raised imposts with a
moulded band above. The end bays have heavy 2-light stone mullioned
windows with lozenge pane glazing. Central studded board door. Above
are similar 2-light windows partly behind the eaves which oversail on
wooden brackets on stone corbels. Left end has a semi-circular oriel
in the gable where the roof also oversails.
Interior: altered and undistinguished.
