GV II

House formerly a pair of cottages, including gate-piers to west. C17 or early C18.
Painted rubble walls. Wheat reed thatched roof. Large dressed granite stack over the
gable ends (right-hand stack is external). Later lean-to on the right has grouted
scantle slate roof.
Plan: 2 rooms with thick stone wall between. Originally the rear of each room was
partitioned off as a pantry, later (C19) lean-to on the right and C20 extension on
the left.
Exterior: 2 storeys. Symmetrical 2 window south-south-west front with central C20
thatched-roofed porch. C20 door, C20 12-pane horned sashes in old openings. C19
lean-to on the right, C20 extension on the left. Old ledged doors at rear with
coloured glass inserted.
Interior: Left-hand room has large splayed fireplace with timber lintel (reinforced)
and cloam oven (with original door) behind the right-hand jamb. Other fireplace
partly blocked. C19 ceiling beams. Old roof structure not inspected.
