Probably 2 adjoining houses, converted into 2 shops with living accommodation. C18
or possibly older. Killas rubble with dressed voussoirs over the original C18
openings, some stucco and granite ashlar to far right of front. Fairly steep dry
slate roof. Brick chimney over left-hand gable party wall.
Plan: Double-depth plan ie. there are C18 rear service wings at right angles.
Altered in the C19 when shop fronts were added, 4 rooms at the front, the 2 middle
rooms have shopfronts. Probably originally 2 housed: larger house on the left.
Exterior: 2 storeys. Overall 7-window road front. On the left a five-window front,
probably originally symmetrical with central doorway; C19 altered openings to ground
floor; original openings above with 3 original C18 16-pane hornless sashes and 2
copies. C19 12-pane horizontal sliding sash at ground floor left; 2 virtually
unaltered C19 double shopfronts with original doors, window and entablature, towards
middle. Circa mid-C19 12 pane sashes on the right.
