SX 19 SW MINSTER

2/72 Corner Cottage
GV II
House. Circa late C17. Rendered and painted stone rubble. Rag slate roof with
gable ends. Stone rubble stack on right hand gable end with brick shaft.
Plan altered; originally 2 room and cross passage plan with right hand room heated by
gable end stack. Left hand room originally unheated.
2 storeys. Asymmetrical 2 window front. 2-light casement on left and 2-light
casement in blocked door opening near centre. First floor with two 2-light
casements. Entrance inserted in right hand gable end in circa mid C19. C19 2-light
casement in first floor of gable end. Small circa C19 single storey service outshot
on right hand gable end.
Interior : Circa late C17 chamfered belling beans with stops obscured. Fireplace in
right hand gable end remodelled to form door opening to outshot. Roof structure
replaced in circa late C19.
