Formerly inn and coach house, now shop and 2 houses in row. Shop
early-mid C18; early C19 coach house addition, altered mid-late
C20. Freestone front to shop, coursed and random rubble elsewhere;
ashlar and rendered chimneys; stone slate roofs, concrete tile to
rear. Two-storey with attic; arched coachway to rear yard.
Front: George Stores to centre has 2-window 3-light chamfered
mullioned casement fenestration with hoodmoulds. Central doorway
with segmental pedimented stone hood on shaped brackets; C20 door.
Oval arched opening links with Old George Coach House to left, door
and loft openings with deep stone lintels now with C20 leaded
casements. Several C20-inserted single-light casements. George
House to right has 2 and 3-light chamfered mullioned casements and
indications of small blocked stair window to right. C20 doorway
with stone lintel. Original ridge-mounted chimney with moulded cap
to north end of George Stores. Rear: mostly C20 fenestration.
Parallel-roofed range to rear of George House.
