Lodge to Rosecraddoc Manor, now house. Dated 1845, with few later alterations.
Greenstone rubble with granite dressings; front rendered. Slate roof with ridge
tiles and gable ends. Front lateral stack, its shaft dismantled.
Plan: 2-room plan, arranged in an L-plan. Room to front heated by lateral stack.
Small single storey C20 addition to rear. Asymmetrical Gothic style.
Exterior: Single storey on plinth; front has off-centre to left gabled bay, with
canted bay, with chamfered mullions to 4 lights with diamond glazing. Datestone over
with crest of deer and arrow, with date 1845. 4-centred arched doorway to left, door
with cover strips and studs, moulded granite hood mould. External stack to right.
The left side has 2 tall narrow single lights with diamond glazing. The right side
has large 2-light window with diamond glazing and hood mould; recessed panel above
with same crest and date. Rear has shallow wing to left, with shouldered arched
doorway to side and blocked shouldered arched doorway to rear of the main range. The
rear gable end of the wing has 2-light window with plain granite mullion and diamond
glazing, half blocked by the small C20 single storey addition.
Interior: Not inspected.
Gate Cottage stands at the southern end of the drive leading to Rosecraddoc Manor
(q.v.).
