SW 83 NW MYLOR RESTRONGUET BARTON

Farmhouse. Circa mid C18. Painted shale rubble walls, slate sills and wooden
lintels. Hipped grouted scantle slate roof with brick chimneys over side walls and
roof sweeping lower to rear over 2 storey outshut.
Plan of hall/kitchen, left, and slightly smaller parlour, right, with cross passage
between leading to central stair between narrower service rooms at rear.
2 storeys. Nearly symmetrical 3-window south west front. Doorway central to
fenestration with circa late C19 ledged door and circa late C19 16-pane horned
sashes. Rear is also symmetrical with 3 windows.
Interior is virtually intact with its original carpentry and joinery: moulded
ceiling beams, lapped collar roof structure, 2 panel and ledged doors (one with
barrel latch), and dog leg stair with turned balusters over closed string and moulded
handrail and newel caps.
At left-hand side wall is a stone mounting block with 3 steps.
One of a group of 4 C17 and C18 farmhouses with 2 of the others included in this
list.
