Gate piers and railings. Mid-C18 (pre-1765). Ashlar and wroughtiron.
Two square-plan gate piers flanking central entrance, flanking walls,
extending about 15 metres each terminated by two small piers, wall advances
2 metres and is terminated by a square pier. All the outer piers are square,
plain with moulded cornice and pyramidal cap. Central piers each have a pair
of Doric columns with alternating blocks flanking a niche, the top having a
moulded cornice and pediment. The main gates are C18, wrought iron with
elaborate overthrow incorporating two "B"s, one a mirror image of the other
Flanking walls have C18 wrought iron railings. (BoE, p 288).
