Gates and gate piers. Probably early C18. Wrought iron and finely cut red
and grey sandstone. Gates have two leaves each divided into two pairs by
horizontal scrolled band at about a third of the overall height, upper sections
have cross motif with scrolled surround in the centre of each leaf; bottom
sections have wavy dog-bars, overthrow has central sun in scrolled gable
topped by flame finial; gate piers are square in plan, slightly chamfered
with cornices and pyramidical cappings. (RCHM Vol I, p 10).
