Laithe-house. Initialled and dated "J B". 2 storey, single bay cottage,
1839
double-pile on plan. Hammer-dressed stone, stone slate roof. West face has
mistal doorway with single light to right; basket arched cart entry with
rusticated voussoirs and tie-stone jambs, over which is a Venetian window with
projecting sill, impost and keystone with inscribed lintel. 3-light flat faced
mullioned window next to lean-to porch in pitch faced stone, c.1840. Over
4-light window. Right hand return wall has 2 single-light attic windows to
gable. Rear has doorway with sill tie and 4-light window with same over and
similar cart entry with Venetian window over. Coped gables. One stack to
ridge, reduced in height.
