BRIGSTOCK BENEFIELD ROAD

GV II

2 houses. Early C19, with C20 alterations. Squared coursed limestone with thatch
roof. Originally each of 2-unit plans. Simple cottage orne style. Single storey.
Together comprising a 4-window range of casements, 2 replaced C20, all under
wood lintels. Central 2 bays are set back under open gabled porch supported on 2
square wood posts. Doors in return walls; No.29 has plank door and No.31 has C20
door, both under wood lintels. Hipped roof with bargeboards to centre gable.
Rebuilt lateral brick stacks at ends. C20 garage attached to right. 2-stage
buttress to left side. Interiors not inspected. Included for group value.
Originally estate houses for Fermyn Woods Hall (q.v.).
