13/06/89 Wall on north side of Anatomy
Building, St Bartholomew's Medical
College

II

Wall. Mid-C19 brick wall, approximately 23 metres long,
incorporating two C14 stone pointed-arched doorways, one being
exposed behind glass on part of the wall to the north and the
other included in part of the wall to the south, being visible
from the dissecting room of the Anatomy Building. These
doorways formed part of the original wall of the east side of
the great cloister of the Carthusian monastery founded in
1371; they provided access to the individual cells
characteristic of Carthusian foundations.
