Salt warehouse. 1816. For Francis Pool, lessee. Rubble with
granite dressings; hipped asbestos slate roof to main part,
concrete tile to wing. Deep plan built into bank at rear. 3
storeys; slightly asymmetrical 3-window front. Wide
elliptically-arched doorway right of centre; 2nd-floor opening
above doorway with old shutters, other openings with glazing
replacing shutters. Right-hand return has slightly irregularly
disposed openings, many with small-paned top lights and
shutters. Linked parallel wing at rear, with steps up to
access platform shared with 2nd floor of front building; the
wing has 2 windows and a doorway facing onto this platform and
2 windows at rear. INTERIOR: original floors and roof
structure, including granite flags to ground floor.
