Office building. 1850. By J Brown. Red brick with ashlar
dressings. Roof not visible. Single ridge stack. Plinth,
first-floor band, second floor sill band, modillion main
cornice. 2 storeys plus basement; 4-window range. Four 2-light
cross casements with moulded round-arched surrounds, bracketed
sills and scroll keystones with swags. Below, in the centre, 2
similar windows. Under the windows, segment-headed openings to
the basement. To left, a doorway with similar surround and
steps to a recessed half-glazed double door with round-headed
panels and plain fanlight. To right, a similar opening with a
moulded panelled double door with divided fanlight.
