Carriage house approximately 60
metres west of The Mythe

GV II

Carriage house and stables. Late C18 or early C19. Flemish
bond brickwork, slate roof.
A symmetrical 2-storey block with wide central pediment,
hipped slate roof. Each wing has a small 2-light small-paned
casement above a wide pair of plank doors to segmental head.
Pediment contains a plain oculus over 2 blank recessed arched
panels containing a small lunette. At centre a small plank
door to segmental head. Brick dentilled eaves all round,
carried also across base of pediment. The end returns are
plain, and the back has a central plank loading door at first
floor. There are 5 wooden corbels or supports spaced across
the back at mid height. INTERIOR not inspected.
SUBSIDIARY FEATURES: to the left of the small central door is
a mounting block with sandstone steps on brick.
