GV II

House. c1836. Ashlar rusticated to ground floor with Welsh
slate roof. Neo-classical style, 2 storeys, 3-window range
double-pile plan with central entrance. Door with overlight
and pedimented canopy carried on brackets flanked by 12-pane
sash windows to left, and full-height bow with tripartite
sashes with moulded architraves and entablatures to right.
Moulded cornice and parapet. End wall stacks. Lower 2-storeyed
4-window service range recessed to left, and extended later
C19 or early C20. Square gate piers with recessed panels and
shallow pyramidal caps. The house forms part of the original
development of Rock Park, laid out in 1836 by J.Bennison.
