Canal bridge. 1779 by engineer John Varley, with later
alterations. Coursed squared stone, partly rebuilt in red
brick. Single segmental arch, mostly in brick but with some
stone voussoirs. Plain stone spandrels and parapets with
chamfered stone copings to top. Walls splay outwards and finish
in square piers. All piers have been partially rebuilt in
brick. Built as part of the Erewash Canal.
