Terrace of dwellings and offices with shops at ground floor
level. c1870. Yellow stock bricks, vermiculated quoins, stone
or composition dressings, mansard slate roof to taller end
bays with pierced parapet, otherwise steeply pitched slate
roof, shaped brackets to eaves cornice, truncated roughcast
stacks. Terrace with extra storey at either end forming
mansard-roofed towers, abutting buildings to left and returned
to Norton Road right. 3 storeys plus attic, 1:6:1 bays; sash
windows without glazing bars except in canted bays where
single vertical glazing bars, end bays break forward slightly
with 3 segmental-headed windows in moulded surrounds in attic
storey, centre 4 gabled dormers and 2 rebuilt flat-roofed
dormers, second floor moulded surrounds to paired round-arched
windows, tripartite sash windows to first floor canted bays
with canopies and continuous cast-iron balustrade, C20 shop
fronts at ground floor level between rusticated piers carrying
shaped brackets instead of capitals, the end bay right has a
fluted pilaster with an ornate capital. Long rendered return
right onto Norton Road.
Forms a group with Nos 94-108 (even) Church Road (qv)
opposite.
