GV II

House with shop, end of row. Early to mid C18. Coursed rubble
with wide joints, rusticated quoins, concrete tile roof. Wide
frontage of 2 storeys and attic, 2 windows. 4-pane sashes in
moulded stone architraves and wood cills, and cyma-mould
cornices. At ground floor a full-width late C19 shop front
with recessed central pair glazed doors; pilasters, modillion
cornice, all unaltered. Return gable, right, has small attic
window to left and blocked light to first floor, right. Stone
stack to rough capping to each gable. Back extended, including
curved wall from gable end. Interior not accessible, but
reputed to have been unaltered for long period, and to retain
gas lighting brackets in shop.
