64 and attached wall

GV II

Small house in row. Late C17 or early C18. Painted large
squared coursed block, stone slate roof, slurried.
Narrow-frontage, double-depth plan. 2-storeys, 1 windowed. C19
casements to stone cills. Plank door left in stone-cheeked
porch to flat slab roof. Stone stack, right, shared with No 62
(not included). At rear a raking dormer. Boundary wall to left
rises to c 2.5m in rubble, but with dressed stone front pier,
tile coping. Modest, but an important survival of a small
house in a historic row which has undergone substantial
changes in the C20.
