GV II

House. Early C19, extended in late C19 and C20. Ashlared
plaster on brick, roofed with slate. Rectangular plan facing
SE, with 2 stacks in each side wall; extension to right,
enclosing stacks. 2-storey wing to rear, connecting the main
house to a formerly separate single-storey cottage to rear
right, with one internal stack. Small 2-storey cottage to rear
right, with one internal stack. Small 2-storey extension in
rear left angle, with flat roof. At the left rear corner the
house abuts on No.47 (not listed). 2 storeys. The front
elevation has one splayed bay of sashes. All windows are
sashes of 1+1 lights, except one mid-C19 sash of 6+6 lights
with handmade glass in the right elevation, on the ground
floor; blocked original aperture above. C20 half-glazed door
with plain overlight and flat canopy on brackets, originally
central, to left of bay. Plaster band at first-floor level,
continuing along right elevation. Hipped roof of low pitch
with long overhanging eaves. 2 skylights in rear pitch of
roof.
