Pair of attached cottages. Early C19. Red brick in Flemish
bond, roofed with machine-made and handmade red clay tiles.
Rectangular plan with long main elevation to NW, and shared
stack in front of axis. C19 single-storey wing to rear centre,
with hipped roof. Lean-to extension to rear right, the roof
inclined towards the centre. Similar lean-to to rear left,
incomplete. 2 storeys. On each floor is one window, boarded
over (No.60), one blank recess, and one sash of 8+8 lights,
all with shallow segmental arches of gauged brick. Dentilled
eaves course. Hipped roof. S-shaped iron tie-plate on the arch
of each ground-floor window. No.58, at right, has in the right
elevation a flush 4-panel door, and 3 S-shaped iron tie
plates, and in the rear elevation, an original first-floor
sash of 8+8 lights. No.60, at left, has in the left elevation
an original flush 6-panel door and simple flat canopy. At the
time of survey, September 1989, No.60 is much obscured by
creeper, the main roof in disrepair, and the rear extensions
unroofed.
