Barn, building attached to north (possibly former stable) and further building
attached to north, formerly a house. Barn dated 1725 on cart entry lintel,
possibly of earlier origin, with later alterations. Coursed rubble, courses of
freestone under eaves of barn, double Roman tiled roof, hipped roof to central
block, pantiled roof to right, rendered east elevation of block to right, with
weatherboards in gable end. 3 blocks form L-plan. East elevation of barn has
high cart entry with heavy timber lintel, opening to left to passage through to
rear, 4 rows of pigeon holes under eaves, continuous perches, stone lean-to
attached to front right with stable door; rear of barn has cart entry as on
front with concrete lintel, C20 addition to right and 2 ventilation slits to left.
Interior: 7-bay roof with tie-beam, collar and 2 rows of purlines. Central
block of 2 storeys, central door with timber lintel, string course above formed
by stone slates, to each side raised over timber lintels, windows blocked, at
first floor 3 timber lintels remaining, windows blocked except central one with
C20 glazing; rear has gable end. Interior: not inspected. Former house
attached to right, forming cross wing, of 2 storeys, has central door in heavy
moulded wooden frame, small window to each side with timber lintels, of 2-lights
with wooden mullion to left, C20 to right, buttress to right, central loading door
under eaves; gable end has stable door with strap hinges to left, C20 window to
right, addition with C20 door and window to right; rear gable end has 2-pane
light with timber lintel, upper loading door with C20 window inserted.
Interior: fireplace on rear wall, blocked.
