Cowsheds and attached stable about

Cowsheds and attached stable. Mid - late C18 with later alterations. Limestone
rubble with stone dressings, stone tiled roofs with raised coped verges, some
double Roman tiles to cowsheds. Single storey cowsheds, of 7 bays, each with
segmental-headed opening with projecting keystone, entry to left blocked; left
return has small single light in gable end. Interior of cowsheds has 4 bays of
roof visible, with tie-beam, principal rafters, one row of purlins and ridge
purlin with plated yoke. Stable attached to right of 2 storeys and 3 windows,
ground floor has two 2-light casements with moulded stone mullions and hood mould,
central stable door with external stair to right leading to keyhole-shaped loading
door under eaves, 2-light casement to each side, with stone ovolo mullion to
right, wooden replacement to left. Interior: of 4 bays, heavy chamfered beams,
roof construction not visible.
