Roughly translated as 'Here lies the noble Baron, Ralph Cromwell, Knight, Lord of Cromwell, former Treasurer of England, and founder of this College with the renowned Margaret, his wife, and an heir of Lord Dayncourt, which same Ralph died the fourth day of the month of January in the year of our Lord 1455. And the aforesaid Margaret died the fifteenth day of the month of September in the year of our Lord, 1454, on whose souls may God have mercy. Amen'
