House, now shop. C16, refurbished 1980 (date shown on modern
panelled pargeting). Timber-framed, colourwashed plaster and
roughcast, old tiled roof with modern fretted lead ridge and
flashings, and box casement dormer. Tall red brick
chimneystack at left. 2 storeys and attics. Jettied first
floor, with flush casement window with leaded glazing bars.
Ground floor had modern stud and brick infill shopfront, with
wide plate glass windows either side of entrance door. Second
date '1512' shown on modern pargeting an erroneous assumption
that the site was part of the historic Star Inn (not the
former Star Public House adjoining at No.14 (qv).
