GV II

House. 1800, with later C19 addition. Brick; tile and slate
roofs with brick stacks. Double-depth plan. Georgian style.
2 storeys with rear basement; symmetrical 5-window range. Top
modillioned brick cornice. Entrance has doorcase with consoled
cornice, elliptical fanlight with radial glazing bars over
6-fielded-panel door and iron bracket for lantern; right end
entrance has rubbed brick flat arch and 6-panel door. Windows
have sills, and rubbed brick flat arches over 12-pane sashes.
Left return has segmental-headed window with 4:12:4-pane
tripartite sash. Lower 3-storey, 3-window, range projects to
left, with slate roof and lateral stacks; re-entrant porch.
Rear has central glazed timber gabled porch on brick base with
return entrances up curved steps. Built on the site of Bishop
Hackett's late C17 house.
Nos 19A & 19B were listed on 6.3.70.
