House, now offices. c1800 with late C19 alterations. Sandstone
ashlar facade, with coursed rubble elsewhere. Slate roof with
a small flat-roofed dormer on the right, coped gables with
kneelers and gable chimneys. Double-depth plan with a rear
wing to the left.
3 storeys above a cellar and 3 bays under an eaves cornice.
The windows have raised sills, plain reveals and 4-pane sashes
on the ground and first floors, with 9-pane sashes above. The
doorway has a moulded cornice carried on fluted consoles. The
recessed door, up 2 nosed steps, has 9 raised and fielded
panels and an overlight with glazing bars arranged as an
ellipse crossed by diagonals.
INTERIOR: stained glass screen to the internal porch. Mahogany
doors, and panelled shutters in all front rooms, plus a dogleg
staircase with an open string, 2 very slender turned balusters
per tread and a mahogany handrail.
