House, now offices. C17 and C18 with C19 and later
alterations. Timber-framed and plastered, with old tiled
double roof parallel to street. Shares cruciform shafted
chimneystack at left with No.3 (qv). 2 storeys, first floor
flush set sash window with glazing bars. Ground floor has C19
shopfront surround with narrow pilasters with moulded caps,
fascia with cut profiled ends and cornice, with inserted mid
C20 half glazed entrance door, and display window divided by
glazing bars into 15 panes.
INTERIOR: has first floor front room with simple C18
panelling, comparable with that in No.3. Together with No.1
Priory Street (qv), and Nos 1 and 2 Baldock Street (qv)
possibly formed the site of The Griffin Inn in mid C17.
