2/39 Barn and cow house about
20 yards west of Marsh
_ Farmhouse

GV II

Barn and cow house. Probably C17, extended in late C18 or early C19.
Dry stone rubble and timber-frame with weatherboards, asbestos roof.
Three partly timber-framed bays rebuilt in rubble to front wall, left bay,
gables and front catslide extension to left of entrance, cow house under
right bay. Opposed entrance doors to middle bay of timber-framed part, ledged
door to cow house in right bay. Interior: weatherboarded timber-frame to rear
of left bay, to right of rear doors and to left hand end of bay to left of
threshing floor which was formerly an external wall. Frame is 2 panels
high from high cill to wall-plate; trusses are of raking strut and queen
strut type, the last towards gables.
