Former inn. Front perhaps C16 (with Falkland Hall), refenestrated:- c.
1800. Coursed and squared rubble on chamfered plinth, Cotswold stone
roof. U-plan with alley to left. 2 storeys at attic. 2 hipped dormers,
C20 brick chimney to right. 1 range of windows, on 1st floor a glazing-
bar sash in raised flat surround with keystone, on ground floor a glazing-
bar shop window. Tall and wide Tudor arched entry to left with label
raised over; ogee molded surround with keystone and panelled spandrels -
sours to predate Falkland Hall (q.v.). Cobbled alley. Courtyard to rear
with 2-storey 5-bay wing linking with barn or store-house cross wing with
open ground floor. Interior: ground floor front room has a Tudor arch
fireplace with roses in the spandrels (moved here from 1st floor).
Perhaps once part of the adjacent property to North-see plinth - rather
than associated with Falkland Hall (q.v.).
