Terraced town house. Part of J.E. Trollope's terrace of 1895,
refronted and the interior redecorated 1913-14 by Romaine-Walker and
Jenkins for James de Rothschild. Fine quality tuck pointed red brick.
Slate roof. Accomplished late C.18 revival. 4 storeys, basement and
dormered mansard. 3 windows wide. Entrance to left with panelled
door in stone architrave with consoled cornice hood. Recessed glazing
box sashes under flat gauged rubbed brick arches. The 1st and 2nd
floors carried out in shallow segmental bow with dentil cornice and
blocking course. Main bracketed cornice over 3rd floor and parapet
with coping. Stone balcony, cantilevered on very shallow console
brackets, across 1st floor with elegant cast iron railing. Spear head
and pine-cone finialed area railings. Elegant neo classical
interiors, one room fitted out with chimney piece and doorcase in
Chinese taste.
