Formerly known as the Red Cottage, the present Red Cottage to the south is a
modern building and is marked by name on OS map.
2 builds. Colourwashed fronts. Left hand part of 1-storey and attic probably
of C17 date. Plaintile roof with hip to left hand. 4 2-tier casements above
projecting into roof space with gables over. On ground floor, from left to right
hand end, paired sash, single sash, paired sash and 6-panel door. Right hand
section of 2 storeys and attic; 3 window bays. Early C19 front. Slate gabled
roof. 1 boxed dormer. 3-light sash with glazing bars to either end on 1st and
ground floors; sash window 4 panes wide in centre on 1st floor; modern brick
doorway in centre below.

Kent House, Woodville, Springfield and Mariner's Hotel form a group.
