House, now 2 dwellings. C16, altered C17 and later, extended
C18. Timber-framed, stucco faced, stuccoed brick ground floor
underbuilding former jetty, old tiled roof, with gable at left
(No.45) facing street, central yellow brick chimney, with
oversailing course and 4 pots.
2 storeys. First floor has two 3-light wood casements, with
divided glazing left and right, and central single light
casement. Thin modern studding planted on gable end at left.
Ground floor has one recessed 3-light and one 2-light wood
casement with divided glazing. Recessed plank doors at extreme
left and right. At right behind No.44 is C18 extension in plum
red brick, Flemish bond with some overburnt headers, brick
eaves cornice with projecting headers, old tiled roof, hipped
with half round ridge tiles, and red brick chimneystack with
oversailing courses and three pots. Timber-framing visible
internally. No.45 appears to be a 2 bay structure, originally
with jettied front, with a braced tie-beam truss, and a pegged
collar roof, without purlins.
