C1870: a long range of single storey gabled warehouses, originally bonded.
Built of stock brick with pairs of gables divided half their length by fire
walls. The gables of equal size to landward end but to river grouped in ascending
scale to taller centre pair. Gables brick coped. Slate roofs. Yard elevation
has buttressed walls. One remaining armoured door under segmental arch, the
rest altered and enlarged for vehicular access. On the river front each gabled
bay has high set diocletion window with keystone framed by brick pilasters
rising level with crown of window arch. Internally each pair of gables covers
2 aisles with queen post roof trusses springing on the outer sides from brick
walls and with the valley supported by a row of 5 cast iron columns,with circular
caps,in each half,separated by the lateral fire wall.
