South west aspect, Church of St Mary and All Saints, Hawksworth

West tower of two stages with stepped angle buttresses. The lower stage is C13, built of coursed, squared, lias rubble. The restored west doorway is C13, with filleted shafts and roll moulding, round bases and capitals and hood mould. The upper stage in brick with ashlar dressings, is late C17. Chamfered eaves band and crenellated parapet. Chamfered and rebated C17 bell opening and clock, 1873. (Photo Jun 2010).
