Gate piers with flanking screen walls and attached cart shed.
Probably earlier C19; slightly damaged. Sandstone ashlar gate
piers, otherwise sandstone random rubble, with stone slate
roof to shed. Square gate piers approx 3 metres high, with
sunk panelled outer faces, prominent moulded cornices and low
moulded pedestals (probably formerly surmounted by ball
finials); the west pier recently damaged by a vehicle. Almost
full-height screen walls with pitched coping. 2-bay cart-shed
attached at right-angles to the north side of the east wall,
open fronted, with a square pier in the centre and another
attached to the screen wall, and a pitched roof with gable
coping and kneelers at the south end.
Forms group with Royle Hall Farmhouse (qv) and with stable
block at north end of yard (qv).
