Villa and attached railings. c1820-30 with later C19 range at right. Brick with stucco facades and slate roof with brick and stucco ridge stacks. Double depth plan with right side hallway. EXTERIOR: 2 storeys with basement, 4+1 first-floor windows, that to left to curved angle; single-storey range at right. 6/6 sashes where original, taller to ground floor, those to angle curved on section. First-floor, third opening is blind, then a full-height canted bay with 1/1 sashes. Concealed basement. Right entrance, flight of steps to 6-panel door with sidelights and fanlight with decorative glazing bars within Ionic porch. First-floor band; an Ionic pilaster above porch; crowning frieze, cornice and blocking course with copings. Raised gable ends. 4-window left return: mainly 6/6 sashes, end bay blind. Ground floor has tripartite 1/1 sash. INTERIOR: not inspected. SUBSIDIARY FEATURES: railings to sides of porch have concave scrolled lozenge motif. HISTORICAL NOTE: shown on Merrett's Map of 1834. A similar design to Greville House (No.37) Gratton Road (qv).
