Pair of terraced houses and attached railings. c1838. Stucco over brick concealed double pitch roof and brick and stucco end stacks; iron railings and rear verandahs. Double depth plan with side stairhalls and service ranges to rear. EXTERIOR: 2 storeys on basements, 6 first-floor windows (3:3). Stucco detailing includes first-floor band; crowning frieze and cornice with blocking course and copings. 6/6 sashes throughout, taller to first floor. 3/6 basement sashes. Pair of central entrances, flights of roll-edged steps to 4-panel, part-glazed doors with overlight with margin-lights, within shared solid porches with pillars and entablature. INTERIOR: to right (No.26), narrow-open-well staircase with stick balusters and wreathed handrail; original joinery includes doors with fluted architraves and flowers to angles; dividing doors between ground-floor rooms. Simple cornices. Otherwise not inspected. SUBSIDIARY FEATURES: arrowhead railings to sides of steps, those to right (No.26) are to boundary and front forecourt, with bars and dogbars. Area railings have X-motif. Verandahs to rear have concentric circles to frieze and oval motif to balustrade.
