Warehouse, now offices and workrooms. c1855, altered later
C19. By TC Hine of Nottingham. Red brick, with rock-faced
stone basement and ashlar dressings, and slate hipped and
mansard roofs.
Plinth, sill bands to each floor, brackets to eaves cornice,
coped parapet. Corner block, 3 and 4 storeys; 11 x 4 windows.
Windows are mainly original plain sashes with round moulded
heads and keystones. Ground floor windows have linked hood
mould. Cast-iron glazing bar windows to basement.
Main front, to Broadway, has regular fenestration and slightly
projecting end bays. To left, an ashlar doorcase with shafts
and entablature, round-arched opening and panelled double
doors with fanlight. To right, a segment-arched cart opening
with keystone and wrought-iron gate.
Rebated rounded corner bay, to left, has a window on each
floor. Left return, to St Mary's Gate, 3 storeys, 4 windows,
has regular fenestration.
