10/01/53 Nos.5 AND 5A

Pair of houses, now in partial use as a clinic and dental
surgery. Late C18 with possible earlier core. Brick with plain
tiled roof. 3-storeyed, 6 bays, the central bay advanced, with
simple open pedimented hood to doorway, carried on console
brackets. 12-pane sash windows (some replaced with 4-paned
windows), with flat-arched brick heads. Additional doorway
inserted in former window to right of elevation.
No.5A is an earlier build, 2 bays, 2-storeyed, with 12-pane
sash windows with flat-arched finely gauged brick heads and
coped gables. Gable end stacks, that to left with fluted base,
suggesting possible early structure remodelled or refronted.
No.5A listed on 30.5.69.
